Week 15 Part A: What We Can Learn from Google Analytics
Where Visitors Are Coming From
One of the most useful features of analytics for my business is seeing where my website traffic is actually coming from. This tells me if people are finding JEWELS AI through search engines, social media, or other websites. It’s helpful because it shows me what’s working and what isn’t. If I see a spike in visits from Instagram, for example, I know that content is connecting. As someone offering AI solutions, I need to track where attention is flowing so I can keep targeting the right channels and show my clients how to do the same.
How Long People Stay on My Site
If someone visits my website and stays for a while, that’s a good sign. It means they’re exploring and likely interested. On the flip side, if they leave quickly, it’s a signal that something needs to change. Maybe my message isn’t clear enough, or the layout needs adjusting. Since I’m in the business of making other businesses more efficient using AI, understanding user behavior like this helps me refine not only my own site, but also gives me real data I can use to guide my clients.
Most Common Traffic Sources
Knowing what sources bring in the most traffic gives me a better idea of where to focus my marketing energy. Whether it’s Google searches, LinkedIn, Instagram, or direct links, this feature helps prioritize outreach. I’m building a brand that teaches businesses how to use AI to streamline their work, and I need to know where people are most likely to find me. This isn’t just helpful for me, it’s something I’ll teach clients to track too so they can grow in a smart and informed way.
Bounce Rates
Bounce rate sounds technical, but it’s basically just how quickly someone clicks away from your site. If someone leaves right away, something didn’t land. Maybe the design is off or the message was unclear. Tracking this helps me pinpoint what’s losing people’s attention so I can adjust. As an AI consultant, I look at bounce rate like a digital pulse. If it’s too high, something’s not connecting. Fixing that means better engagement and more trust.
Conversions and Goals
This is one of my favorites. Conversion tracking lets me set specific goals, like signing up for a newsletter or filling out a contact form, and see how many people actually do it. It’s a clear way to measure success. In the AI space, data like this is gold. It helps me see exactly what’s driving action, and it lets me help my clients create content or funnels that actually perform. It turns guesses into strategy.
